New video: Smart Heating Systems save money and CO2

The premise was that energy demand and supply, energy savings and new supply, renewable energy resources, as well as associated costs can be mapped in spatial databases called Energy atlases.

The PhD project addressed the spatial representation of sustainable energy systems with particular focus on heat demand and supply. It developed methods and tools to map heat current demand, efficiency measures and supply by location, potentials and costs. Public registers refined with other data were used to draw a detailed, consistent and easily updated heat atlas for GIS-based analyses of district heating systems development.
